Our Specialist Consultant, Clinical Sexologist / Counsellor, Helena Green recently successfully completed the second level of the world-renowned Gottman Professional Training in Couples Therapy.

This is a four-day state-of-the art intensive professional development workshop developed by Drs John and Julie Gottman.  It provides a range of skills and strategies for counselling professionals to work with couples who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship.

We believe that Helena is uniquely qualified, being the only Clinical Sexologist in the South West, and possibly Western Australia, with Level 2 Gottman relationship training.

How can Gottman therapy assist you with relationship difficulties

Gottman Couples Therapy The Gottman Method was developed in the 1980s by Drs John and  Julie Gottman. It is based upon extensive clinical evidence.

The Gottmans developed this form of couples therapy  to assist  achieving a deeper sense of understanding, awareness, empathy, and connection in the relationship.

They found that this ultimately results in increased intimacy and growth of each individual. The counsellor provides therapeutic intervention using couples exercises, to help identify and address the personal defences that get in the way of effective communication and bonding.
