Managing The Emotional Storm

A Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) program
to assist with tolerating intense feelings and managing repeated self-destructive behaviours

Please note:  we are not currently running this program.
please check with us to see if it is scheduled.

Managing Emotions - inSync for Life - Counselling and Psychology
This SKILLS-BASED program is designed to improve emotional management and assist with a reduction in impulsive behaviours such as
  • Self-harm
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Substance abuse
  • Agression and anger outbursts
  • Eating disorders
  • Repeated intense relationship problems

If you are willing to commit to this intensive program, you will improve your motivation to change, while learning to manage your intense emotions more effectively and reduce your pattern of harmful behaviours.

What is DBT?

DBT is a relatively new, widely researched therapeutic method. It assists you to understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, to help change unhealthy thinking and behaviour patterns. But, it also validates your own perspective, experiences and knowledge.

DBT can help you to recognise that you CAN change by learning and practicing the skills necessary to withstand emotional pain.

It aims to teach you:
  • that 'life is worth living'
  • how to deal with personal barriers preventing you from living your life in a successful and meaningful way, regardless of previous experiences
  • to see and challenge your rigid thinking patterns and learn that the 'way things should be' is not always black and white, and there is a middle path
  • to learn to process and manage intense emotions
To learn more about this exciting 10-week intensive MANAGING THE EMOTIONAL STORM program, please contact us for further information.
